Displaying caliper measured value on large 7-segment display and PC

Receiving and displaying measured data appearing on the caliper's serial output according to a special protocol on a large 7-segment LED display and on a PC.

A PIC microcontroller receives the data appearing on the caliper's serial output via wire, interprets it, and sends the mm value to the LED display digits via multiplexing, and also displays it on the PC.
